A spirit of discernment

- Tuesday, 12 June 2018. to read...
Throughout life finding one self through all the chaos around us is something very difficult to do. Placing my worth in compliments, likes, academic accomplishments and in other people has impacted my self-esteem as a person. I am not sure how many of you can relate to this but figuring this out sooner rather than later has helped me in so many ways. Understand this, it just didn't happen over night or at the snap of a finger, but it took a lot of trials and tribulations for me to get to a point where I had to find myself again. This started when I found a spiritual outlet to help with this, in my case it was God.

Before coming to live in Scotland, I've read about obedience and in turn you will bear much fruit and that's what I want to do throughout my life. Nothing has brought me more satisfaction and happiness than this thus far. I believe with my obedience a lot of opportunities for me and the life I've always dreamt of living has been coming into place. This is where I believe a spirit of discernment comes into play. Every decision, every opportunity, every challenge, every obstacle isn't for you. Having a spirit of discernment to know what battles to face head on or what doors to open or what paths to walk will affect your life. Sometimes our capacity to understand what is right for us or what "goodness" is, will only be limited by our understanding of such. Sometimes there may be a situation or an opportunity that you may not deem as right for you at a specific time, and you will have to endure a lot of pain or tribulations within this situation or opportunity. But it is at this time you would have experienced and learned what is needed for your future.

There is a quote which states "God's goodness towards you is not subjected to your perceptions of 'goodness'. Sometimes the most chaotic seasons of your life are sovereignly ordained to be the best seasons of your life.

Not for your comfort but to draw your soul nearer to your Savior."

Find joy in knowing that when a spirit of discernment is leading you in your journey you will be lead along the right roads.
