My road to Dubai...

- Friday, 15 March 2019. to read...
When I started this blog, my bio stated, Trinidadian living in Scotland, now in a shocking turn of events, I'm a Trinidadian living in Dubai. I moved initially to Scotland to complete my masters in Forensic Science, something I have always dreamed of since I was a child. After completing my masters and becoming an official 'forensic scientist', I realized I have never thought further ahead from that. So I decided when I completed my dissertation, I will start applying for jobs. I applied for jobs in literally every field. Nothing was too hard or too "low" for me to do. I got a job working as a promotion specialist in the first week of applying for jobs. I had no experience but I was willing, only to find out that the company was fraudulent. I handed in my resignation immediately and left.

My job search led me to job fairs; one in particular was ran by my University which encouraged me to go online on prospects.com and look for graduate scheme jobs. One of the jobs which struck me and I applied for, was a teaching job in the United Arab Emirates. I called my parents and my boyfriend (at the time) and asked them what they thought of the opportunity. Although nothing was set in stone, they were open to the idea. The process was really long but the benefits of the job was highly considered, and at that stage in my life I was strongly bent on "WHAT GOD WANTS FOR ME WILL HAPPEN." I pursued other paths whilst waiting for the feedback from that job as well as other jobs. Other opportunities came along and I started working 7 days a week. Five days a week I was working at HSBC, leaving at 6 a.m and getting back in at 6 p.m. On weekends I worked in the local grocery, for 8-10 hours shifts.

It was Christmas season and I knew my student visa at the time was expiring soon, so I decided either I pursued becoming permanent somewhere in the UK or I went back to Trinidad. I was open to the idea of moving anywhere in the world and I kept saying, "WHAT GOD WANTS FOR ME WILL HAPPEN." A week before making my final decision on moving from/staying in the UK, I got the email confirming I was meant to leave to the U.A.E to become a Biology teacher. My tickets were finalized and I left within a couple of days.

"WHAT GOD WANTS FOR ME WILL HAPPEN." has been 2018's statement, I would have never guessed my life would take such a drastic change professionally, a change I can say with confidence I'm very comfortable and happy with. The culture, the people, the job, my passion for helping people and in turn children has been a great opportunity and I have to say... my road to DUBAI was one which was truly led by GOD.
